Organic Cheat Sheet

organic food

Knowledge and logic tells us that organic food is good food and therefore good for us. Not only is it tastier to eat, it is good for the environment and safe for the farmers who produce it. We can also count agriculture as responsible for polluting our waterways so choosing organic is definitely the eco choice for  people wanting to live a more healthy and sustainable life.

However it is not always economically practical for young families to buy all organic so which organic fruits and vegetables to put in our shopping mix can be complicated. Some produce  we buy will have less pesticides, while others are  overloaded with chemical residues. The obvious ones have thick skin like bananas and others are penetrable like berries.

So is buying organic worth the dollars we spend? It  is still  yet to be proved that there is an adverse health effect from the consumption of the low levels of pesticides that are commonly found  in our food. It is inconclusive but Time magazine says, “Even if conventional foods don’t turn out to be as dangerous as organic  advocates claim, several recent studies have suggested that organic foods contain higher levels of vitamins than their conventionally grown counterparts.” For more susceptible groups, such as children and pregnant women and those interested in sustainable growing practices as well as their health, buying and eating organic makes good sense.

Here, you’ll find out more about going organic: your child deserves it.

To spend a little more for organic or not? To make some quick and easy decisions as to what to buy for your hard earned money download Heidi Kenney’s free Dirty Dozen Cheat Sheet. The Cheat Sheet makes that decision easy. It is a credit card-sized guide separating 27 common fruits and veggies into two categories, those that usually have a low pesticide content and those that don’t. The guide is based on the Environmental Working Group’s comprehensive list of the Dirty Dozen and the Clean 15.

Do you buy organic? If so, what do you think are the most important fruits and vegetables to purchase? Let us know.

I just wanted to let you know that our kanoe has basically saved my life and my marriage. It has changed our lives completely. My daughter now takes at least 3 naps a day! Before I had this Kanoe I was never able to get her to sleep except for when she would fall asleep on me nursing (...) I just wish I had known about it earlier. Thank you for making our life a little easier :) — Megan Williams
Last fall, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Bonjour Baby via a giveaway over at the ecoxpo. They had a great display and hosted a giveaway and I won an organic cotton mini bunny. It was perfect timing too, as my little girl was just born. He loves his new cuddly friend. I haven't gone back to use any other resource platform again. Your articles are very high quality and I love your selection of products too. The Bonjour Baby products are truly amazing! I always look forward to your new articles and products. — Millie, Sydney
My three-year-old had a seemingly ‘endless’ runny nose with watery eyes, sneezing and chest congestion. Thanks to your article on homeopathy for babies we were able to naturally treat her condition. She is now perfectly fine and we use those natural remedies on ourselves too when the seasons changes. Thank you very much for your quality articles. — Alexandre
I would just like to say how much I love Bonjour Baby! They are really fantastic! I recently emailed some about baby care to some other mums in my parenting group and now my whole parenting group are all devoted Bonjour Baby fans! I’m just so glad your website is available, thank you again and keep up the great work! — Amalia, Wakerley QLD
Thank you Bonjour Baby, you have done a fantastic job. We discovered you from a friend and you have inspired us to live a bit greener once our little one arrived a few months ago. My sister and I are continuously looking for your new articles, as we want what is best for our bubs. So thank you again for all these quality articles. — Magda and Jenny, Alstonville
Every time my little girl has her bath, after using your products (we have the entire range) our whole family would comment on how our little ones smells! We all love your products, cannot give enough praise for them. The quality of your articles are also a great resource for the new parents wanting to raise a sustainable baby like us! Much love — Sangeeta, Neutral Bay
